Shelly is a Certified Health Coach, writer, speaker, mentor, and the founder of Warrior Soul – health, wellness, nutrition and lifestyle programs that will transform your life, through healthy habits.
Shelly's work has impacted the lives of thousands of people around the world, and as a result, she’s earned the nickname Lupus Warrior. Her tenacity and grit has not only reclaimed her own health, but the lives of those that work with her.

How It Started: My Story


I've spent most of my life feeling like I was meant to help people, but I was never quite sure HOW. 

At the age of 28, I was told by my doctor that if I didn’t make drastic changes in my life, I wouldn’t make it to the age of 40.

My body was failing. I had depression and severe anxiety. I was unable to keep water and food in my body. My organs were shutting down. Doctors were baffled, so they threw every medication at my mysterious disease to no avail. I had what felt like an impossible choice to make, give up or fight. Either way, it was going to be the toughest battle of my life. 


In true warrior fashion, I ditched the prescription medications, researched alternative treatments and by using the tools of mindfulness, nourishment, rest, movement, and boundaries, I tackled my autoimmune disease.

Today, I am a fifth degree black belt, a yogi and living my best life! I believe wellness involves the foods we eat, the way we move our bodies, how we manage stress, the products we consume, the work we do, and the quality of our relationships. When we make choices that are nourishing to ourselves, we are better able to care for those around us.

Deep in my soul, I knew I needed to help people live healthier lives.

If I had a health coach to help me when I was 28, it would have changed the trajectory of my life. When my own health took a turn and my medical solutions weren’t fully resolving my health issues, I turned to what I was putting in and on my body.

As it was, it took me a couple of years to get my health back on track on my own. During that time I discovered healthy foods, I changed the way I ate, I got rid of my toxic cleaning and personal care products, I picked up exercise, and tried a bunch of holistic healing techniques. I researched treatments that nourished and healed my body from the core, instead of just sticking a bandaid on the problem. With the proper nourishment my body craved, I started to heal.

By creating new daily habits, I became stronger. I started living. I shared my holistic remedies and healthy tips with my students. After years of people telling me I should write a book, I wrote my first book-Pain-Free, Drug-Free!: How to Overcome Chronic Pain, Autoimmune Disease and Stress Naturally! and a health coach was born.

A health coach supports individuals with goal setting, strategic planning, behavior change, motivation and accountability. A health coach is there to help clients build healthy habits that align with their goals. Well, that was me!

I support and guide my clients to feel more energized, balanced and confident in their body.

Together, we will find your ideal combination of food, movement, mindset, support and self care. I tell my clients that a health coach is a blend of a nutrition coach, fitness guide, stress-less expert, lifestyle coach, habit teacher, best friend, cheerleader, drill sergeant and even a mini therapist.

What I love about health coaching is that it is limitless — so many aspects of wellness and lifestyle impact our health. A nutritionist might just focus on food, or a personal trainer on fitness, but we know that sleep, stress, our career, our relationships and how we talk to ourselves can make the biggest impact on our health.

It took some time to figure out exactly what I wanted to do and how I would do it, but eventually, I embraced my passion for health and wellness. I took some certification courses on nutrition and holistic healing, trained to be a yoga instructor, and then made it my mission to create content that educated my followers on what it means to live a balanced and healthy life.


Now it is my passion and drive to pay forward the knowledge I have gained to my clients, empowering them to own their health and happiness by creating one healthy habit at a time.
